about
I am a Southern girl with an adventurous spirit. I have loved photography every since I can remember. I guess you can say it runs in the family, it all started with my father, he loved photography and that love was passed down to my sister, my son, and me. I love being able to get creative with my photography, so that is why I ended up choosing only two areas to focus my business on, High School Seniors and Maternity/Newborn.
I love High School Seniors because they like different, fun, creative photographs, photographs that no one else in their school has anything like. We go to interesting locations for their photographs, based on who they are. I am always trying to top the last photography session and go to new levels with my photography.
Maternity/Newborn Photography is so enjoyable and rewarding! I am able to capture the beauty of the expected mother and father in an artistic way and then when their little bundle of joy arrives I am able to capture that once in a lifetime moment during the first week after their birth.
When I started my boutique photography business in 2010, I wanted to create a studio in my home, located in the Hayward Hills in the Fairview community. I love it! It is more personal and less commercial. My studio takes up the entire bottom floor of my home. It also allows me to keep my overhead down and pass the savings on to my clients. I shoot sessions in my studio, but I really love to get out and take portraits in different environmental settings. I enjoy going out and finding unique, fun locations to photograph my clients. I try to never photograph a client in the same location that I photographed another client at unless the client request a specific location.
I still photograph engagement, family and children sessions, but only upon request. I also will do an occasional wedding, but again only upon request.
If you would like a photography experience that is outside the traditional photography box, have fun, and laugh, then I am the photographer for you! When I am working with my clients, I like to get to know them, find out what they like and don't like, so that I can design the session to fit each clients personality and needs. I am always thinking about what I can do to make each photography experience fun and different. Usually when I am working with a client, we talk, joke around, and laugh, before you know it the client is relaxed and isn't even thinking about being photographed, because they are being themselves and they are in their element. We have fun, but I still take the time to pay attention to details. The reason most people don't like their photographs, is because they are tense, and worried about posing the right way or how they look. I try to get my clients away from this way of thinking and before you know it, they are done and love their images. So if you want to have a different, fun photography session, give me a call.
I love people and I love photography!
